A Vancouver paparazzo has been charged with criminal harassment and assault with a weapon in connection with an alleged hit and run involving movie star Ryan Reynolds.

Richard William Fedyck, 52, is also facing a charge of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. The photographer is scheduled to make a first appearance Tuesday in Vancouver provincial court.

According to a copy of the sworn information, Fedyck allegedly harassed Ryan Rodney Reynolds between February 28 and April 11.

The hit and run allegedly happened on April 10, while Reynolds was in Vancouver filming the movie Deadpool.

At the time, police said the Vancouver-born actor got into a confrontation with a photographer in the parking lot of the upmarket Shangri-La Hotel. Reynolds suffered a sore knee and back.

According to the sworn information, Fedyck allegedly committed an assault on Reynolds using a motor vehicle.

Police said Fedyck was contacted by phone after the incident and he agreed to speak with investigators, who made the decision to arrest him.

Fedyck has denied any wrongdoing.

It's not the first time Fedyck has been involved in an altercation with a movie star.

He sued Pamela Anderson and Denise Richards in 2007 for allegedly throwing his laptop over the edge of a balcony at the River Rock Casino Resort during the filming of Blonde and Blonder.

And in 2010, Montreal police investigated Fedyck after Twilight actor Kellan Lutz claimed the paparazzo had backed a car into him on a film set in Quebec. Fedyck was not charged in that incident.

None of the charges have been proven in court.
