A man was Tasered and arrested after an incident caught on video Thursday night at Pearson International Airport.
Police said the man, who would not let go of a briefcase, tried to break through the doors of a restricted area for a Turkish Airlines flight. He would not respond to their attempts to communicate with him, they said.
A bystander at the airport in Mississauga, Ont., recorded the conclusion of the standoff with on cellphone, which appears to show the man being Tasered once and falling forward to the ground before being apprehended by officers.
Police said the man was detained under the Mental Health Act and transferred to a nearby hospital.
There was no immediate word on any injuries, or possible criminal charges.
