Toronto Police say they don’t know who built a mysterious tunnel near York University and a Pan Am Games venue, nor what their motive may have been.

Mystery tunnel found near Pan Am Games venue
The large tunnel, as first reported by CBC News Toronto, was found near York University’s Keele Campus and the Rexall Centre on Jan. 14.

Toronto police Deputy Chief Mark Saunders said its clear whoever built the tunnel had some level of expertise.
Several pieces of evidence, including a rosary with a Remembrance Day poppy affixed to it, were recovered from the scene.
Police are asking for any information the public may be able to provide.
