Nine people were found dead in rural southwest Missouri in at least four different locations, according to local media reports.
The Texas County Sheriff's Office would not answer questions about the reports but confirmed an investigation into several killings was ongoing.
The nine dead were all found in and near the town of Tyrone, according to a local newspaper. State police were to hold a news conference later in the morning.
