Provincial police have blocked off a large area in a rural municipality in southwestern Ontario and residents are being advised to lock their windows and doors.
The situation began Saturday night in Clinton, a community in Central Huron, with police setting up a mobile command post.
Central Huron Mayor Jim Ginn said a town alarm went of Saturday night.
He said residents should lock their doors and stay away from their windows while Ontario Provincial Police look for suspects in a possible shooting incident.
Police declined to confirm their presence in the town on Sunday but there are reports from citizens that a manhunt is underway.
Cruisers are blocking off a number of roads in the area.
