French media report three police officers could face charges in connection with the alleged rape of a Canadian woman at the Paris police headquarters, while a fourth officer is expected to be released from custody.
A spokesman for Paris police told The Canadian Press the case had been transferred to the public prosecutor's office.
The office could not be reached for comment.
Published reports also say the 34-year-old Toronto woman, who is the daughter of a Canadian police officer, will soon return to Canada.
Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs would only say consular officials are providing assistance to a Canadian citizen in Paris.
The reports allege the police officers, who are part of an anti-gang squad, met the woman at an Irish pub Tuesday night and later went together to the unit's headquarters.
French newspapers cite sources saying the woman allegedly left distraught the next morning and told another officer that she had been raped.
The media reports say three of the officers are accused of being directly involved in the assault, while the other allegedly spoke to the woman after it happened.
A report in Le Figaro says an investigation could be opened into a possible gang rape and tampering with a crime scene.
The officers have reportedly denied the allegations.
