Vancouver police say a suspect wanted in connection with a series of violent robberies on Sunday has been arrested.

Police in Surrey found a Honda Civic that had been allegedly stolen in a carjacking incident in Vancouver and a suspect was taken into custody.

Police have not yet released any information about the suspect.

The violence began with a home invasion in Richmond at about 6 p.m. PT where a resident was stabbed and a car was stolen. About an hour later, that vehicle was involved in a head-on collision.

The suspect fled the scene and allegedly tried to rob a man at a bank machine before crossing the street to a gas station where a second vehicle was carjacked.

The driver received minor injuries, but was able to escape with his wife and two children, aged seven and 10, who were in the back seat, before the suspect drove off.
